For punched holes, the hardness may increase in the hole wall and larger holes than the standard may be required. Hole diameters according to DIN 7500-2 are achieved by testing several different materials and punching lengths. Therefore, these should only be regarded as guidelines and, in the case of mass production, on-site testing should be carried out to optimize the fixing.
