Hexagon bolts must be marked with the designation for the property class described in the section entitled Designation system.

Marking is mandatory for bolts in all property classes.The designation should ideally be placed on the upper side of the bolt head with raised or sunken figures, or on the side of the head with sunken figures.See figure 1.

Marking is required for bolts with a nominal diameter > 5 mm if the shape of the product allows this.The marking should ideally be placed on the bolt head.
